National Orientation Feedback

Hey Friends! Please take a moment to reflect on your experiences. You can review the events of each day or skip directly to the questions. Your feedback helps us grow as an organization and improves the experience of future Fellows.

  • On Sunday, staff welcomed you to Pendle Hill, gave you a room assignment, and sent you to explore different places on the campus. Greg and Ruth launched Orientation with an official welcome. This was also the first time you gathered with your Housemates.

  • On Monday, we met for worship in the Barn and reflected on a framework for spiritual exploration. We started a conversation about Liberatory Futures. We invited you to distinguish between Comfort, Challenge and Chaos. After dinner, we delved into community life with "Dishes +1" and you were invited to make s'mores at the fire pit.

  • On Tuesday, we invited you to think about conflict as a positive feature of community life. We talked about race in our first Affinity and Caucus Groups. We talked about the financial model of QVS, seeing community as a resource and talked about class in our second Affinity and Caucus Groups.

  • On Wednesday, after meeting for worship in the Barn, we talked about gender during our third Affinity and Caucus Groups. We continued the conversation about liberatory futures. We gathered for photos. After dinner, we saw a different side of our community during the Talent Show.

  • On Thursday, we talked about trust as a theme woven throughout the QVS experience. The Closing Program was a time to reflect on your intentions for the year and receive a blessing for the year ahead.
